are oppressed
is it for those who have
had a misfortune
in medicine or law

spirit is empty

devoid and hollow

Mumia

i usually don't write like this

                 i use a pencil and a pen it

                 flows more smoothly

                  the words come quickly to me

                like the water from the stream

                  as it ran through my fingers

you are in prison now

you wait behind bars

for a lethal injection

a dose of humanity's inhumanity

i am one of the protestors that stand

in front of city hall

though i know you don't believe in
communism
I do

but at the present time the most

important thing is to save your life

                           

                          End the death penalty!
