                            all it wanted was

                                to be free

                            I left my mind

                             because I thought

                                 of freedom

                            I left my soul

                                at Soledad

                               I hope that it shall be

                                  liberated

                            I left my life

                                  at Attica

                               all because I wanted

                                    freedom

                             I left my heart

                                    at Wounded Knee

                              Because that is where

                                  I felt the pains of freedom
